THE PROPOSAL
While you were away,
a stranger came.
He said he knew you well,
But did not leave his name.
Was just passing through it seems,
And thought he'd leave some dreams.
He shared his treasures
Then turned to go,
Said they'd all come true
If you wanted them to -
I wanted to know
About me,
But he was gone -
I couldn't even tell
If he'd really ever been there -
But as I thought about
What he'd said,
The beauty of his dreams
Became streams
Of visions and hopes,
Flooding my head;
And I realized,
That the treasures
He had left for you -
Were for me too -
If you wanted.
